How to Setup FTP on New VPS & Dedicated Hosting Servers

This article will explain how to set up FTP on a VPS and a Dedicated server. For cPanel version 11.86 or prior, cPanel decided to disable FTP by default. How to Set up FTP

  1. Log in to your Bluehost Account Manager.

  2. Click Hosting in the left-hand menu.

  3. In the hosting details page, click the WHM button. BH VPS and Dedi WHM Access

  4. Search for FTP in the top left corner of the WHM.

  5. Select FTP Server Selection. FTP Server Selection WHM — Access the FTP Server Selection

  6. Here, the default setting for FTP is Disabled.

  7. We advise using the PURE-FTPD service as it is the server's faster, more reliable FTP service. WHM — Select an option in FTP Server Selection FTP Server Selection is disabled
