As we upgrade our Customer Portal to an optimized and easy-to-use design, you may find some features, hosting products and/or services no longer available. Due to this update, Reseller hosting plans are no longer offered by HostGator for new signups. While these hosting plans are no longer available, we will still provide support to customers on these hosting plans, and there will be no change to your service. Transferring Your Existing Site​

If you have an existing website and are transferring it over, you would want to follow the steps in a slightly different order: Initial Setup

You will note that when you transfer an existing site to your new hosting account, you change DNS after you copy your site over, not before. This is so your visitors continue to see your website while you transfer it over. If you are starting a new site, then you change your DNS first so people can see your new site sooner.
